Moviefone – Available to buy on digital beginning March 18th is the new modern day Western ‘High Ground’, which was directed by James Bamford (‘Shadow Land’), and stars Charlie Weber (‘The Painter’), Katherine McNamara (‘Arrow’), Henry Thomas (‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’), and Oscar winner Jon Voight (‘Heat’ and ‘Megalopolis’).

Moviefone recently had the pleasure of speaking with Jon Voight and Charlie Weber about their work on ‘High Ground’, Voight’s first reaction to the screenplay, how Weber developed the project, their characters, working together again, their respect for actress Katherine McNamara, preparing for the action sequences, collaborating with director James Bamford, on set and if Mr. Voight is still having fun making movies at this point in his career.

MF: Charlie, can you talk about Jake’s relationship with Cassie and working with Katherine McNamara?
CW: Kat was perfect. She was such a great Cassie. We just really got along immediately and had a great rapport, respected each other’s work, and it was just breezy. We really got along great, and the scenes together were so fun and just natural. I really enjoyed working with her.

MF: Mr. Voight, what was your experience like working with Katherine McNamara?
JV: You know, the thing about Kate, I mean, she’s really gifted in many ways, and she’s gifted physically in terms of all of her understanding of martial arts and stuff. She’s very talented, and she has quite a following because of that. But she’s also a wonderful actress, too. She’s good.

Kat’s new movie High Ground came out today on Digital and I got my hands on it for you all. This is Kat’s 3rd movie with James Bamford and I love he is doing all different movies but still keeping the great stunt work and Kat plays all different people in them. This time she is a small town girl who is in love with the sheriff and can fire a gun like no other who has to help fight of a gang on bad men.

Yesterday Kat post a trailer for her new movie that is coming out next month High Ground. The film is made by James Bamford and will make Kat’s third movie with him and we know there will be a lot of action with them two in a movie. Kat will play Cassie Becker in the movie and it will co-star Charlie Weber, Jon Voight, Henry Thomas, James Oliver Wheatley, Dustin Ingram and Skyler Shaye. Best known for her roles as Clary Fray in Shadowhunters, Mia Smoak in Arrow, and Sonya in Maze Runner, Katherine shares insights into her journey through some of the biggest fandoms in TV and film.

Over the past few weeks, Los Angeles has been severely affected by some of the most devastating wildfires in history. These fires have destroyed entire neighborhoods, and the fires continue to rage. It was only a matter of time before fundraising events emerged, and Kat attended one last night for the “Settecento Grand Opening Event Dedicated To Palisades Charter High School Recovery Efforts” in Los Angeles. While only a few photographs of Kat have been released, I hope more will be forthcoming.

Kat has been added to the gurst list for Creation Entertainment’s “Vampire Fan Weekend” at Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel & Convention Center in Dallas on March 29th – 30th. Kat will be there for her show Shadowhunters with Dominic Sherwood and Luke Baines as well as The Vampire Diaries cast like Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley.
